Peter Quinn is a barber in Rathfarnham who has had an extremely varied career.... He grew up in Bohernabreena, Dublin and left school young to begin an apprenticeship in hairdressing. He is well known for his creative haircuts. In 2003, a photo of haircut he created for a punter going to Cheltenham, in the shape of a pint of Guinness, appeared all over the papers as Princess Anne was snapped staring at it, but his first, a Batman logo cut into a customers hair was on the front page of the Herald in 1990 with the headline "Holy haircuts Batman!" Peter is also a songwriter and released an a CD back in 1999 and now sings in a David Bowie tribute band called Rebel Rebel (www.rebelrebeltribute.com) his voice has always been compared to Bowie's. He set up and managed Ireland’s first e-commerce web site in 1999, it was an album available as a download which could be paid for by credit card in real time. The first of its kind in Ireland and quite possibly the world, it led to an avalanche of publicity and to Peter being listed in ‘who’s who’ on the web in Ireland. He went on to set up and manage the first Irish trade auction web site in 2001. Peter returned to barbering in 2002, but he continues to run a successful online company selling hair stencils to create unusual haircuts. www.extremebarber.com
